ComoNExT in Lomazzo (CO): creation of eco-friendly flooring in a stabilized granular mix and soil
ComoNExT, digital innovation hub and startup incubator, has planned the construction of a car park serving the scientific and technological hub and the redevelopment into a green area for the creation of a territorial agricultural park; all in continuity with the skilful recovery and industrial archeology operation carried out on the ancient Somaini Cotton Mill in Lomazzo (CO).
For this purpose, eco-compatible materials that are particularly suitable in this context were used.
Description of the project
The choice of materials to stabilize, which fell on an experimental mix of stabilized granular mixes and soil, together with the ecological stabilizer from Terra Solida Italia, meant that the result obtained was exceptional in terms of eco-sustainability, color and with an absolutely perfect.
The design requirements for the creation of the routes were mainly:
- eco-friendliness of all the materials used;
- colors and textures entirely in accordance with the lithology of the site;
- mechanical characteristics such as to guarantee long durability of the route;

permeability such as to guarantee full usability of the routes, even in adverse weather conditions, guaranteeing the absolute absence of stagnation and puddles of water.
Products used
To create the routes the following were used:
- Nature Premix, an eco-friendly natural binder, used for the stabilization of the aggregates used after adequate testing by the technical management of Terra Solida Italia;
- Stabilcure, a seasoning aid to guarantee the correct maturation of the stabilized surfaces
