Hydrogeological risk, the topic in a seminar and the commitment of Terra Solida

Man touches some earth

Recent events and climate change require renewed reflection on hydrogeological risk , a discussion in which Terra Solida is once again participating with great commitment. This important topic is being addressed by the Order of Engineers of the Province of Cuneo in an engaging seminar on this timely and fundamental topic . The event is scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2023, at 14:00 PM in the Sala Monta of the Cavalieri Hotel in Bra.

The seminar on hydrogeological risk

A moment of reflection, analysis, and study on topics related to hydrogeological risk, but also slope instability and the worsening of the situation caused by worsening soil conditions and changing, increasingly violent precipitation patterns. Slope instability is a hotly debated topic today, linked to specific geomorphological and geological aspects that are always subject to uncertainty, linked to the hydrogeological cycle of rainwater and to meteorological and climatic conditions.

The seminar focuses on a debate that focuses on the scientific and technical analysis of the topic, but above all, on the search for intervention solutions to mitigate the associated risks and protect the territory from environmental hazards. It is an arena open to engineers and experts interested in learning more and acquiring the skills necessary to address hydrogeological risk issues, particularly with regard to non-structural interventions in landslides and structural mitigation.

In this regard, the intervention of Dr. Geo becomes important. Maurizio Gioia who will speak on the subject and specify the risks relating to the natural and eco-sustainable floors with high drainage capacity that Terra Solida has been dealing with for several years with enormous success.

The intervention of Dr. Maurizio Gioia is set at 17:10 until 17:50

The program includes a presentation by Dr. Secondo Barbero on the topic " Water Resources and Sustainability: A Chronicle of 2022, Between Emergency and Lessons Learned ." Professor Claudio Oggeri of the Polytechnic University of Turin will then speak on "Landslide Phenomena, Causes, and Monitoring," followed by Professor Pierpaolo Oreste, who will discuss slope modeling.

Also worthy of note are presentations by Dr. Geol. Andrea Bodigoi on controlling surface erosion using geomats and biomats, and Dr. Geol. Maurizio Gioia on Natural and eco-sustainable pavements with high drainage capacity . Finally, Dr. Engineer Riccardo Betolina will discuss the collection, conveyance, treatment, and reuse of rainwater.

Terra Solida's commitment

Once again, Terra Solida is putting its expertise to work for people and the local area. Thanks to Dr. Gioia, who will discuss eco-sustainable flooring and the challenge of providing these structures with exceptional drainage capacity thanks to innovative materials, the fruit of passion and research.
