Terra Solida at the Save the Childern village at Expo

Terra Solida at the Save the Children Village at Expo Milano 2015. The Save the Children Village is made of wood and recycled materials, with outdoor spaces in cultivated land and gardens, with a strong reference to the structures visible in the countries in which the Organization operates . Inside the Village, visitors to Expo Milano 2015 will be able to discover, with the help of Save the Children operators and educators, the importance of nutrition and its impact on the lives and health of children and mothers around the world, in particularly in developing countries, through interactive and sensorial installations and paths, cooking demonstrations, special events and exhibitions. Terra Solida is a supporter of Every One, a major international campaign to put an end to infant mortality and concretely contribute to achieving the 4th Millennium Development Goal: reducing infant mortality by 2/3 by 2015. The fight against malnutrition - cause of over 45% of deaths of children under 5 years old - is a central element of Save the Children's intervention in the field as well as education on correct nutrition that can guarantee adequate nutrition to children from their first days of life and their mothers. Participation in Expo Milano 2015 constitutes an important step in raising the attention of institutions on these issues and increasing visitors' awareness of the causes and effects of malnutrition, asking themselves about the challenges and the most effective solutions to combat it.
