Il November 9, 2018 will take place in Rimini, the prize “The City for Greenery“, in the presence of the president of the “Committee for the development of public green spaces” at the Ministry of the Environment. Now in its 19th edition, the award returns to confer its prestigious recognitions on Italian municipalities that have excellently invested their commitment and resources in favor of public green and  environmental sustainability. It is therefore assigned to public administrations that have distinguished themselves for innovative achievements or management methods, aimed at increasing public green areas with new construction or redevelopment interventions or in which the maintenance aspect and the improvement of the environmental conditions of their own area are favoured. territory, also through the valorisation of biodegradable and compostable waste.

From this year the award also welcomes interventions and initiatives from other public bodies and private structures with public purposes, which have been able to enhance the green spaces of their structures. As an example we cite: hospital spaces with therapeutic greenery, specific interventions for the valorisation of historic gardens and botanical gardens, natural spaces within university campuses, gardens and vegetable gardens within schools. Other public bodies such as Consortia, Management Areas and Companies, voluntary associations that carry out a public service for the redevelopment and maintenance of the green spaces of our cities can also participate in the "The Most Organic Municipality" section.

Award ceremony
The official awards ceremony will be held on Friday November 9, 2018 at 9.30 am as part of Ecomondo (Rimini, 6-9 November 2018) – the prestigious International Exhibition of green economyand transformation of secondary materials and waste,energy efficiencysolutions and technologies times a improve the quality of life of citizens and encourage them development of key territories planet.

The awards ceremony will take place in TULIPANO room in the pavilion. B6 and will be preceded by a report on the prospects of urban greenery in Italy held by Sabrina Diamanti, President of the National Council of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors.
