Creation of eco-friendly paving in stabilized granular mix on the Fenestrelle road cycle path in Pinerolo (TO)
The municipal administration of Pinerolo has designed and created this beautiful and very useful cycle path adjacent to one of the most important road axes of the Piedmontese town, thus giving a notable boost to slow and eco-sustainable mobility.
Description of the project
The path was created with the stabilized earth system through the use of eco-compatible and 100% recyclable binders.
The high mechanical performance obtained gives very high durability to the walkways while the high permeability characteristics allow, at the same time, compliance with the principles of hydraulic and hydrological invariance and compliance with the requirements in the Minimum Environmental Criteria, CAM, currently in force.
The choice of materials to stabilize, together with the ecological stabilizer from Terra Solida Italia, has allowed the achievement of an exceptional result in terms of eco-sustainability, color and a beauty perfectly inserted into a unique and high-quality scenario, together with the durability of the intervention.
The design requirements for the creation of the routes were mainly:
- eco-friendliness of all the materials used;
- colors and textures entirely in accordance with the lithology of the site;
- mechanical characteristics such as to guarantee long durability of the routes;
- permeability such as to guarantee full usability of the routes, even in adverse weather conditions, guaranteeing the absolute absence of stagnation and puddles of water.
Products used
To create the routes the following were used:
- Nature Premix, an eco-friendly natural binder, used for the stabilization of the aggregates used after adequate testing by the technical management of Terra Solida Italia;
- Stabilcure seasoning adjuvant to guarantee the correct maturation of stabilized surfaces.
