Tenuta Santo Stefano in Santo Stefano Del Sole (AV): creation of eco-friendly draining flooring with limestone aggregates
At the request of the Tenuta Santo Stefano owners, a highly draining eco-sustainable flooring was created using single-granular limestone aggregates. The flooring fits perfectly into the delightful garden and along the edges of the swimming pool, all accompanying the elegant villa used for catering and overnight accommodation.
Description of the project
The choice of this type of material was made in compliance with the geological features of the area, characterized by carbonate reliefs. Furthermore, the very light color has, in fact, made it possible to obtain an enormous benefit in lowering the environmental temperature, the immediate effect of which is a pleasant sensation of freshness.
The choice of materials therefore proved to be successful in the direction of eco-sustainability, color and beauty perfectly inserted into a high-quality natural setting.
The design requirements for the creation of the routes were mainly:
- colors and textures entirely in accordance with the lithology of the site;
- mechanical characteristics such as to guarantee long durability of the route;

permeability such as to guarantee full usability of the routes, even in adverse weather conditions, guaranteeing the absolute absence of stagnation and puddles of water.
Products used
To create the routes the following were used:
- City Open composite, multifunctional fibre-reinforced liquid compound specially formulated to obtain correct rheology of draining mixtures;
- Openprotation, a seasoning aid to guarantee the correct maturation of the surfaces.
